In December, we hosted a two-part planning conference to lay the groundwork for the Israel Aquarium’s next five-year work plan. These sessions covered a range of topics, including technical issues, zoological collection planning, conservation programs, and educational messaging. As the Aquarium matures and our team gains valuable experience, it's time to look ahead and prepare for future challenges.
In addition to our staff, over 10 representatives from the Israel Nature & Parks Authority attended, offering their expert insights on topics such as wildlife conservation, visitor experience, and technical challenges.
The discussion was thorough, and we’re now focused on finalizing detailed work plans, priorities, budgets, and implementation schedules. This extensive five-year plan will require a multi-million shekel investment, a major undertaking that will unfold over the medium term. The work plan is therefore a very time consuming task and will take a number of months to complete.
One of the core take-aways was the need to enhance visitor engagement. Following an in-depth review, we’re making interactive and educational improvements to enrich every visit, whether guided or self-led.
We will continue to update you every step of the way - thank you so much for your continued support!
