Hello Israel Aquarium Supporters!
It has been a busy 3 months at the Aquarium.
Our sealing team has arrived to seal the tanks and ready them for being filled with water. Most exciting of all, we have filled our first large tank with water to begin the testing process of the life support systems! View the video below to experience this wonderful moment with us!
In addition, our quarantine systems have begun to run and we have received our first animals! Three blue-spotted ribbontail rays (native to the Red Sea) arrived from Lisbon Aquarium – these beautiful animals are adapting to their new life in Jerusalem and awaiting their permanent homes within the exhibits.
In addition, we received two baby zebra sharks from an aquarium in the UK. We hope that they will thrive and become iconic residents of our new aquarium.
The Israel Nature and Parks authority have also given us fish confiscated from illegal imports and so we are also caring for such exotic species as yellow-tailed/purple tangs, puffer fish, lionfish, angel fish, a moray eel and more!
We look forward to reporting on more progress in the coming months. Things are certainly happening!
With thanks and appreciation for your continued support,
Team Aquarium at the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo
