Project Overview
The Alkhidmat Foundation, under its Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program, successfully installed an electrical submersible pump in Umerkot, Sindh, specifically serving the village of Allah Dino Paro. This project is part of our ongoing efforts to provide clean and safe drinking water to underserved and vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
The newly installed submersible pump will directly benefit 250 residents, providing them with reliable access to clean water, which is essential for daily use such as drinking, cooking, and sanitation. Prior to this installation, the villagers faced significant challenges in accessing clean water, often having to travel long distances to fetch water from unreliable sources.

Project Activities and Implementation
Site Selection and Survey:
The site for the submersible pump was selected based on a comprehensive community needs assessment conducted by Alkhidmat’s field team. The village of Allah Dino Paro was identified as one of the most water-stressed areas in Umerkot, Sindh.
Installation of the Submersible Pump:
The electrical submersible pump was installed with support from local engineers and laborers. The pump is designed to draw water from deep underground, providing a sustainable water source for the community.
Community Engagement:
To ensure the sustainability of the project, local community members were trained on how to maintain and operate the pump. Awareness sessions were also conducted on the importance of water conservation and hygiene.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
A monitoring team was deployed to track the project's progress and ensure that the pump is functioning efficiently. Regular maintenance checks are scheduled to ensure long-term sustainability.
