This project will help build Gravity Flow Clean Water Projects across Upper Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. This project will provide clean water to more than 350,000 people who are currently consuming contaminated water. We have currently 225 Gravity Flow Water Schemes across Upper Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Potable water is scarce in the mountainous north of Pakistan. Despite vast frozen water reserves, winter access is limited and summer glacier melt is highly turbid. Steep terrain, harsh weather, and damaged infrastructure make collecting river water difficult. Urban areas also face water stress. Frequent natural hazards-landslides, floods, and earthquakes-further disrupt and contaminate water supplies, worsening the region's climate-driven challenges
This project will provide clean drinking water through gravity flow systems to reduce diarrheal diseases in northern communities. It aims to supply safe water to around 500,000 people across Upper Dir, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Chitral. By improving access to potable water, strengthening village-based management, and promoting better hygiene practices, the project will reduce water-related health risks for thousands of households each year
This project will help eliminate waterborne diseases and improve quality of life in remote northern regions. Families currently suffer while collecting contaminated water from streams and ponds. By ensuring clean and safe water access for all residents, the project will enhance health and overall well-being in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu Kashmir
