Growing Hope: Laying the Foundation for Syria's Green Recovery

Dear Friends,

Thank you for believing in our vision of restoring Syria's forests and helping communities recover from years of conflict and environmental degradation. Every contribution, regardless of its size, is helping transform this vision into reality.

Over the past months, the Salam Humanitarian Foundation (SHF) has been preparing the groundwork for this ambitious initiative. Our team has continued coordinating with local communities, technical experts, and environmental stakeholders to identify priority areas most affected by deforestation, soil degradation, and climate-related challenges.

The project has also focused on developing an implementation plan that combines environmental restoration with community participation. Local residents, including women and young people, will play an active role in tree planting, environmental awareness activities, and the long-term care of newly restored green spaces. This approach ensures that the project creates not only healthier ecosystems but also stronger community ownership and resilience.

Once implementation begins, the project will support the planting of thousands of native and drought-resistant trees, helping restore degraded land, reduce soil erosion, improve biodiversity, and strengthen communities' ability to adapt to climate change.

Although there is still much work ahead, your generosity has already taken the first important step toward making Syria greener and more resilient for future generations.

On behalf of everyone at Salam Humanitarian Foundation, thank you for standing with us. We look forward to sharing more milestones, photos, and stories from the field as the project progresses.

With sincere gratitude,

Salam Humanitarian Foundation (SHF)
