Green Rebuild Toolkit Aug 2023 Report

Hello Friend,

The Black Summer bushfires in Australia destroyed 5,900 buildings and homes. 2.9 million people had their homes damaged, threatened, or were temporarily displaced. The Green Rebuild Toolkit is a set of resources developed by Renew to help people rebuild their homes and increase resistance to future climate disasters. Now in its second phase, the Green Rebuild Toolkit is expanding to include profiles of Australia’s most fire-resilient homes.

Nigel Bell from ECODesign Architects has assessed over 28 submitted designs (Beyond BAL project) to feature as best practice case studies on our Green Rebuild Toolkit website, supporting bushfire impacted communities to build back for resilience.

We are now in the process of developing a new series of events showcasing the case studies, which will run in Nov 2023. The timing of these webinars are imporant as we lead into a hot summer with high fire risk. We are also in the process of updating our resources on our website to feature the Beyond BAL houses and supporting material.
