Our volunteers in the face of the flood

Dear donors and supporters,

I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. As the year draws to a close, I want to share with you some remarkable achievements from our recent projects, made possible by your unwavering generosity and support.

In mid-September 2024, devastating floods swept through southern Poland, leaving many communities in despair. Responding to this crisis, over 80 of our dedicated volunteers traveled to the affected regions in November to help clean up and restore normalcy to those impacted. Their efforts resulted in the cleanup of 29 homes, a village community center, a medical clinic, and a school.

To ensure our volunteers were emotionally prepared for such challenging work, we arranged sessions with a psychologist both before and after their trips. These sessions helped them prepare for the emotional weight of witnessing others’ hardships and provided essential support as they processed their experiences afterward.

In addition to our flood relief efforts, November marked the launch of our new scholarship program for volunteers, "Social Heroes." This initiative is designed to recognize and support volunteers who have consistently engaged in community service for at least 12 months, face financial hardships, and demonstrate a passion they wish to nurture.

The application period closed on International Volunteer Day, and we’re excited to soon introduce our first cohort of scholarship recipients to our community of donors and friends. We are confident that these inspiring individuals will make us all proud as they continue to grow and contribute to society.

Your support makes these vital initiatives possible, and we cannot thank you enough for standing with us. Together, we’re building stronger, more compassionate communities and making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.

With gratitude,
Dawid and the Team of Clementine Foundation
