Your investment in growing the 'Bee Boys' Cooperative is stretching further than we thought!
After a year of learning Biodynamic Beekeeeping and increasing our sales in the Biodynamics market, the Bee Boys have also been getting more attention as an Eco-Tourism attraction.
Unexpected (but it makes sense!), once people meet the Bee Boys, they want to visit their farm to learn more about natural Beekeeping and how it benefits the entire eco-system around Lake Atitlan (including coffee production). These visits encourage the Boys in their project, and spreads awareness about their project.
"It's a nice experience to bring visitors to teach them how to maintain the hives. Otherwise it's just the same old work!"
-Giovanni, Cooperative Member
Earlier in the year, they could only take a maximum of 3 visitors because they would have to lend out their Beekeeping Coveralls to their guests. Now as word is getting out about their innovative, ecological and economically sustainable project more visitors are signing up for educational tours on Beekeeping, providing a new and unexpected income for the Boys.
Investing in this growing project for 2016, you helped the Bee Boys acquire:
6 new Bee Keeping CoverAlls for paying visitors and student volunteers
