Q2 Healing Base Camp Launches in Ukraine

By Lindsey Bybee | Marketing & Social Media Manager

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We’re excited to share some important updates on our programs and expansion efforts as we continue our mission to bring healing to families affected by war.

Healing Base Camp Launches in Ukraine

Last month marked a major milestone: we officially launched our Healing Base Camp program in Ukraine. Over the course of two weeks, we hosted 30 Ukrainian veterans and their families, and provided hands-on training for a new team of Ukrainian staff, mountain guides, and psychologists.

Healing Base Camp will run two weeks each month, offering consistent support to families who are in critical need of healing. Our current session is underway now, focused on gold star families. Running the program on Ukrainian soil means we can now reach more families, more often.

As the war continues, so too does the deep need for recovery, resilience, and hope.

Expansion to the Middle East

After three impactful years of working with Ukrainian families, we are preparing to bring our healing model to another region where trauma runs deep: the Middle East.

This summer, we will launch a pilot Healing Base Camp for Israeli widows and children affected by the October 7 attacks. Later this year, we are planning a second pilot for Palestinian women and children. We are approaching this expansion with the same intention and cultural sensitivity that define all of our work.

These camps will mirror the core components of our Ukraine programs—nature-based healing, art therapy, psychoeducation, and trauma-informed care—adapted to fit each community’s needs.

Brush Strokes That Heal: Online Art Auction

We warmly invite you to participate in our upcoming online art auction, open Sunday, June 22 at 8:00 AM EST until Saturday June 28 at 4:00 PM EST.

This carefully curated collection includes works by Ukrainian artists, MSF staff members, and injured Ukrainian veterans, all speaking to the powerful themes of hope and resilience.

Preview the auction and register here:https://app.galabid.com/msf-art-2025/

All proceeds will directly support our healing programs for families impacted by war.

Thank you, as always, for standing with us. Your generosity fuels every step we take and every life we’re able to touch. We’re deeply grateful to have you on this journey with us.

With heartfelt thanks,

The Mountain Seed Foundation Team
