Greetings and Happy New Year!
2026 is off to a rolling start for Mountain Seed Foundation and our Healing Base Camp programs. In addition to planning our annual flagship Healing Base Camp program in Austria, we are actively working on expanding our program to families in the Middle East. The need for family-focused mental health support is ever-growing and our mission is to bring our proven program to as many families as we can.
We recently launched a separate progject on GlobalGiving to fundraise specifically for this Middle East Expansion. Last July, we held our pilot Healing Base Camp for Israeli widows and children from the attacks on October 7, 2023. We are planning our pilot program for Palestinian women and children later this year.
With the implementation of more Healing Base Camps, we are in need of more donations in order to make this possible. We spend 92 cents of every dollar donated directly on our programs. You can feel assured that donations are used to restore hope, connection, and resilience to families who have endured war-induced trauma. We'd like to share a touching news segment from Deutsche Welle about our 2025 Healing Base Camp. The feature shows the second week of HBC Austria in August where we hosted former Prisoners of War and their families. Please watch and witness the power that our programs have to change lives.
