Challenge

Colombia's healthcare system is currently facing a financial crisis. This crisis is compounded by the closure of 988 pediatric beds and services in Medellin over the past 15 years due to limited funding for essential services. This threatens timely medical care for children, especially those already in vulnerable situations who face significant access barriers. We urgently need support to counter this crisis and ensure that children's health remains a priority.

Solution

We are a vital force in pediatric care, providing essential services such as the only dedicated burn unit, the most structured transplant programs, a comprehensive oncology program, neonatal care, a combined ICU and SCU for emergency cases, and our hospital classroom. With a full team of specialized professionals and state-of-the-art equipment, we deliver high-quality healthcare with a humanized approach that prioritizes the well-being of children and their families.

Long-Term Impact

Each year, Our hospital with a capacity of 180 pediatric beds cares for more than 20,900 children. We have a hospital classroom designed to provide mental health support which reduces stress, fear, and anxiety in our young patients. Our social wellness programs support caregivers and single mothers, ensuring they receive the guidance and support they need. At San Vicente Fundacion, We protect the lives of children and families who find our hospital a place where hope is always possible
