CELEBRATING 15 YEARS OF IMPACT

By Anthonia Uche Umeh | Project Leader

15 YEARS OF IMPACT
15 YEARS OF IMPACT

Celebrating 15 years of impactful initiatives by Anambra State Association Women in USA, Inc. (ASA Women USA) in improving healthcare access and providing advocacy, education, and awareness for indigent women with cancer in Nigeria indicate major milestones for our organization.

The organization has dedicated 8 years to cancer and maternal health medical missions, delivering medical and surgical services to over 30,000 individuals in Anambra State, Nigeria.

We have enhanced healthcare infrastructure by donating diagnostic equipment to state hospitals and alleviated financial burdens by paying hospital bills.

Notably, the organization has supported over 150 breast and cervical cancer patients through the Anambra State health insurance scheme since 2021 and provided financial grants for cancer treatments.

The group has also hosted significant fundraising events like pink dinners and a 5K walk for Hope in both the US and Nigeria, aiming to combat cancer.

Through collaborations with the GlobalGiving foundation and donations to a breast cancer center in Washington DC, the organization demonstrates its commitment to cancer care.

Moving forward, establishing the Hope Cancer Center in Anambra State, in partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, is a key goal, with land already acquired. Partnerships and sponsorship are vital features for this endeavor and to financially support our adopted women diagnosed with breast and/ or cervical cancer.

ASA Women USA, Inc. strengthens the healthcare of indigent women with Cancer and other Health concerns in Anambra State, Nigeria one woman at a time.

Mark Your Calendars for upcoming 5K Walk/RUN for Hope & Fight to End Cancer on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Glenn Dale Community Center, 11901 Glenn Dale Blvd, WB&A Trail, Glenn Dale, MD 20769 at 8:30 am.

Pre-registration is highly recommended. Donations can be made at the link below, with a minimum donation of $50 per person and sponsorship at $100 per person and more. WALK T-shirts and souvenirs will be available on the day of the event.
