Thanks to the support received from all our donors, and organizations such as PAHO Latin America, action for solidarity, Laboratorios Roemmers, Fundakeneeth, and group 9 of the Venezuelan air forces, we were able to deliver medicines to more than 1200 people in the communities of Guara, Lajapelá , Guayabalito, Fundo San Pablo, Pozoterekay and Yaviajé in Alto Ventuari, Manapiare Municipality in Amazonas state. It was a trip of more than 800 km by road from Caracas to get to Puerto Ayacucho, 40 minutes of flight from Puerto Ayacucho to San Juan de Manapiare, 2 weeks sailing the Ventuari river and walking more than 5 hours to distribute more than 500 kg of medicines among the most isolated communities of the H people, üottüjja. We are currently preparing our next trip to the Caura River region (Bolívar State) for next April, where we hope to distribute medicines and tools for the sarrapia harvest. Thanks to this harvest, various communities of the Yekwana people survive without working in the illegal mining that threatens the biodiversity of the Caura National Park.
