Visually Challenged needs Food

By Ilakkiaarasi | Fundraising Executive

Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. A food is something that provides nutrients. Nutrients are substances that provide: energy for activity, growth, and all functions of the body such as breathing, digesting food, and keeping warm; materials for the growth and repair of the body, and for keeping the immune system healthy.

Indian Association for the Blind (lAB) based in Madurai, South India, is a renowned not-for-profit organization working at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visual challenges. It was established in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children and adults with a special focus on those from the rural background.

The body cannot function properly if one or more nutrients are missing. IAB is getting supported in providing food to its 300 Visually challenged through this drive in Global giving. As we all know Good health is an important part of the good vision. The healthier you are, the better chance you have of avoiding risks to your eyes.

In case of Visually challenged, their total health is based on only the healthy and balanced food. Encouraging children to eat a nutritious, balanced diet early on is important for a number of reasons. Ensuring they get the right vitamins and minerals in their diet will help them grow and develop optimally. Till now we have raised $11,749 through this drive. Thanks to global giving and its donors for the generous gift.

As always, we, along with GlobalGiving, will do our best in reaching out to generous donors across the Globe and will strive to bring happiness on the face of each of our beneficiaries. Once again we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the generous support rendered by global giving and the philanthropists of global giving which makes it possible for our organization to exist and to make the community a great place to live in. We look forward to raising more for this cause.
