Healthy food for 300 visually challenged children

Indian Association for the Blind (lAB) Madurai based NGO from South India, working at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visually challenged. It was founded in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children and adults with a special focus on those from the rural background.

The world produces enough food for everyone. Yet there are some people who suffer a lot for food. People still go to bed hungry. Food gives us the energy and nutrients to grow and develop, be healthy and active, to move, work, play, think and learn. If you do not eat enough protein, you will not be able to grow properly. if you do not eat enough energy containing foods, you will feel very tired. Our visually impaired students also need enough protein and vitamins to lead a normal life. In the developing world, on the other hand, many people suffer from Hunger, or under-nutrition, whereby they do not have enough food. You are not supporting them only for food, giving them hand for healthy and confident life. Food will give them balanced nutrition and vitamins to stay healthy. It is playing a major role in all part of their life.
