We have some exciting updates to share with you about our Healthy Mothers Program!
Our US based team is headed back to Santiago for a jam packed next week. We will be hosting a celebration ceremony for the women from the communities of Tzanchaj and Chu'ul who just completed our program at the end of 2023. During this time, we will participate in a recognition ceremony, share a healthy meal with the women and their loved ones and hear about what parts of the program were most impactful.
Then we will check in on our newly enrolled Healthy Mothers groups for 2024. In addition to the two groups we typically have each year, we are excited and proud to add two new HM groups from the rural communities on the outskirts of Santiago in ChukMuk and Chacaya. Most women in these communities have not received formal education and our program will help them to learn more about themselves, their heath and how to improve the health of their families. In addition to a weekly educational session, they will also participate in guided exercise program each week.
