Help 10 Girls Gain More Skill Trough Training

We are delighted to inform you that the students in the Vocational Scholarship Program are now in their job training. After six months of studying on campus, the students now get the opportunity to practice all the theories they got from their lecturer. All of the students who study tourism are now having their job training in five star hotel or resort.

The students will have to put the theory they got on campus into practice in real hotel settings. The process was started by applying to the institutions and going through the interviews. Once they were accepted in the hotel, they went through orientation before starting to work in their station. As it is the first time they work in the five-star hotel, they need to adapt to the hotel's rules

Here are some of the students' comments about this training experience in the industry:

"I am happy to get the opportunity to be on job training in this five-star resort in Ubud. I have a great opportunity to practice my English. I have the chance to serve the guests and communicate with them in English. Another great opportunity is that we have additional training for 15-30 minutes before the shift is ended. I gained knowledge about attitude in serving the guests in the restaurant and other important knowledge about the hotel and industry." - Linia, trained in 5 stars resort in Ubud.

"I have so many chances to learn in the hotel and the senior staff are so helpful in teaching us. They taught me so many things and with their guidance, I was able to handle 10 tables during breakfast time with very little supervision in my second week of training. I also learned about the guest's food restrictions due to various reasons such as religious beliefs or food allergies. " - Mahenda, trained in a 5-star hotel in Ubud.

"The most memorable experience I got during training was when my senior allowed me to pour a drink to the guest. I was hesitant to do that because I always became nervous. My hand usually shook when I met a guest. I was afraid to make mistakes and I might spill the drink to the guest. Despite my reasons, the senior staff encouraged me and told me there was always a first time for everything. So I have to take the opportunity and pour the drink. I am glad because I took the opportunity and did it successfully. Now I am not nervous at work anywhere"- Sri, trained in the same resort as Linia.
