Thank you for generously contributing to RISE through GlobalGiving, including the recent Little by Little Campaign in March. All gifts were matched, and RISE received $2012 in donations and matching funds! The goal of that effort highlights the reality that little by little, it all adds up and makes a tangible difference. We are very grateful for your ongoing support of RISE and kids in Angola!
Two schools are currently under construction, bringing the total to 201 since 2003. Most exciting is the fact that over 147,000 kids will have access to education each year! The impact is significant with the provision of a safe, protected space in which to learn, as well as an increase in attendance when a school is in closer proximity to children’s homes. Strong leadership is also key to well-managed and maintained schools.
Education makes change possible… it opens doors and opportunities, and provides hope. The gift of education has the potential to change a child’s life and future, and extends to families, communities, and the country. In the words of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres... “Education is the single-most important investment any country can make. There is no better definition of sustainable development and no better pathway to realize this ambition than by educating every child.” Thanks for your part!
