This project aims to support 200 school students with blindness in Dar es Salaam by providing learning materials, assistive devices, school supplies, and educational support. Many visually impaired students face barriers to quality education due to poverty and lack of accessible resources. The project will work with schools and communities to ensure students receive equal learning opportunities. Through community support and donations, the program will help students build confidence.
Students with blindness in Tanzania often struggle to access braille books, mobility tools, and inclusive learning environments. Many families cannot afford specialized educational materials or transportation to school. Limited awareness and inadequate support systems make it difficult for these students to continue their education. Without assistance, many visually impaired children are at risk of poor academic outcomes and school dropout.
The project will provide braille learning materials, white canes, school uniforms, backpacks, and assistive technology to 200 students with blindness. It will also organize teacher training and awareness programs to improve inclusive education practices in schools. Support groups and mentorship activities will encourage students to stay motivated and confident in their studies. Partnerships with local schools and organizations will ensure effective implementation and long-term support.
The project will increase school attendance and academic success among students with blindness in Dar es Salaam. Students will gain independence, confidence, and better opportunities for future employment and higher education. Families and communities will become more aware of the importance of inclusive education and disability rights. In the long term, the project will contribute to reducing inequality and empowering visually impaired children to become active members of society.
