Many mothers in Bongo District in Northern Ghana face serious challenges accessing maternal healthcare due to poverty, long distances to health facilities, and limited medical services. This project will provide free maternal health support, antenatal care, medicines, and health education for 250 vulnerable mothers in rural communities.
Pregnant and nursing mothers in Bongo District often struggle to access timely and quality healthcare. Many live far from clinics and cannot afford transportation or medical fees. As a result, they delay antenatal visits and face increased risks of pregnancy complications, unsafe deliveries, and poor postnatal care. This situation contributes to preventable maternal and newborn health challenges in deprived communities.
This project will provide mobile maternal health outreach services in Bongo District, offering free antenatal checkups, essential medicines, nutrition support, health education, and referrals for high-risk pregnancies. Health workers will also educate mothers on safe pregnancy practices, hygiene, and newborn care to improve outcomes.
The project will improve maternal and newborn health outcomes for 250 mothers in Bongo District. It will reduce pregnancy-related complications, improve access to antenatal and postnatal care, increase health awareness, and contribute to safer deliveries and healthier families in rural communities.
