Over the past four months, the Elite Star Foundation has actively implemented its child protection initiative aimed at preventing and addressing child abuse among school-aged children in North-Central Nigeria. Our activities focused on empowering teachers, students, and community members with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify, prevent, and respond to abuse effectively.
Key Activities:
School Engagement and Outreach:
Successfully partnered with more schools across the region.
Conducted initial assessments to understand each school’s current capacity in addressing child protection concerns.
Capacity Building and Training:
Organized training sessions for students on identifying signs of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse.
Monitoring and Follow-up:
Conducted regular follow-ups with trained personnel in schools to ensure proper implementation of child protection measures.
Collected data on emerging concerns, including reported incidents of abuse and the effectiveness of response actions.
