Displaced Women Remain Trapped in Dangerous Work

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for your donation to support displaced women seeking to leave sex work in Abuja. Your generosity represents a meaningful step toward providing safer alternatives for women in desperate situations. However, we must report that the funds raised so far are not sufficient to begin our program.

Currently, the fifty dollars we have received cannot provide even one night of safe shelter or a single business starter kit. While we deeply appreciate this initial support, the reality is that hundreds of women continue to face danger daily because they lack other options for survival.

These women, who have fled violence in their home communities, now find themselves trapped in different dangers in the city. Without safe housing or reliable income, they remain vulnerable to exploitation and health risks. Each day without assistance means more women must choose between their safety and feeding their children.

Our program is prepared to offer practical solutions. We have identified safe housing options, developed business training materials, and established connections with local health services. We stand ready to provide women with the resources they need to build new lives - but we cannot begin without adequate funding.

We are reaching out to ask for your continued support. Your contribution can provide a woman with safe shelter, health services, and the means to support herself through dignified work.

With hope and determination,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
