Combating child domesticity is the backbone of the Limyè Lavi Foundation's work. The communities it supports never miss special opportunities to defend the rights of children and youth and work toward their full development. This year, on the second Sunday of June, the day of the celebration of National Children's Day, the Taluy community children's club (3rd communal section of the Jean Noël Fund, Marigot Commune, Jacmel, Haiti) honored the children of their community through a series of activities.
The program included theater, poetry, and dance, accompanied by guessing games. These activities allowed children and youth to express themselves and develop their talents.
Singing and performing dance routines to songs that appealed to children, they entertained the audience.
The Limyè Lavi Foundation took the opportunity to provide the club leaders with a radio and a microphone to carry out activities with the children. The club leaders plan to organize craft activities with the children during the summer holidays.
Nearly fifty children/youth and around one hundred adults took part in the activities.
With the aim of enabling children and youth to thrive and developing leisure activities for members of their community, members of the local organization of Gros Morne (a community supported by the Limyè Lavi Foundation in the commune of Bainet) launched a soccer championship on Sunday, July 13, which will take place during the summer holidays. This activity is supported by the foundation.
