Thanks to your support, we can contribute to the well-being of young people with cancer!
Angie is 19 years old and is part of the Young People in Contact group of the Colombian Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation. She was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia in the first trimester of 2020.
Our contact with Angie throughout this time has been virtual and by phone due to the Covid-19 pandemic. By this means we have listened to her, we have encouraged her and we have resolved doubts and concerns about her process.
Angie received a bone marrow transplant as part of her treatment and her doctor has already authorized her to return to her hometown Villavicencio. This makes her very excited and happy, because she misses her family, her pet and the beautiful landscapes of her city. Angie is counting the days until she returns home and takes the opportunity to thank the Young people in Contact group in a special way, for their welcome and support. For her, they were excellent treatment partners who helped her understand that she was not alone in this disease process.
Without hesitation, this beautiful young woman hopes to be able to become a volunteer for the Foundation at some point, to give back for the valuable support received for her and her family.
