Help A Child Get Back to School

Women form the key part of our society, and when you provide business skills to a woman you are empowering and improving the whole household’s livelihood. The long term goal of this project is to ensure that 1500 women and girls are empowered with business skills and knowledge which will create a positive impact in their lives.

The donations given have been able to impact the lives of these women and young girls, we appreciate the donors for continuing to support us.  This project has been divided into 4 main activities.

• Hairdressing.
• Matt making.
• Tailoring.
• Soap making.

In hairdressing 7 women recently graduated with certificates. We are currently recruiting another group to start in September. Our goal is to ensure that by the end of the year 350 women shall have acquired certificates in the field of hairdressing.

Matt making. In this activity, the first group of 15 members have concluded their training, with our assistance, these members are in the process of searching the market for their products. Part of their earnings shall be contributed to a kitty, this is for the sustainability of the project. Similar to hairdressing, The Ngao Foundation is in the process to recruit new members of this activity, to commence their training in September.

Tailoring: this is ongoing training, the learners are taught different types or forms of training, members meet every Saturday morning to afternoon. The group comprised 19 members.

Soap making: This activity has been able to benefit 20 women and the target is to reach 100 before the end of the year. This activity aims to provide knowledge and skills on how to make liquid soap local. Once the group members have completed their training new members shall be recruited.
