This report will cover the progress made for the months of May, June and July. 13 students who completed high school are currently being supported to access computer literacy and other related packages through The digital literacy initiatiative. The aim for this initiative is to provide access to digital literacy and training for the youth in informal settlements. On 5th August these students will be graduating thanks to your support.
In June, The Ngao Foundation started another initiative to rehabilitate and empower young boys and girls who have been rehabilitated from the streets and those recovering from all forms of drugs and alcoholism and those who dropped out of school so that we provide a second change for them through training in hands-on skills such as electrical and electronics courses, hair dressing, plus all vocational opportunities. Already we have 17 youths enrolled in different units courses.
We also hosted a football tournament bring children from different parts of Nairob mainly Kibra and Kangemi. The aim of this tournament was to create a harmonious environment between these children and fostering inclusivity. These children were also taught on dangers of engaging into crime, substance and drug abuse, they were also given carreer guidance talks.
