Dear Friends,
When the earth shook in Afghanistan this past August, it didn't just bring down buildings. It shattered lives that were already hanging by a thread.
The 6.0 magnitude earthquake that struck near Jalalabad killed over 800 people and injured more than 2,000 others. Entire villages were reduced to rubble. Families who had already lost everything to decades of war and hardship suddenly found themselves buried under the remains of their own homes.
Thanks to your generosity, we have been able to reach some of them. Your donations have provided food baskets, clean water, and medical aid to survivors. We've helped set up temporary shelter for families now facing the bitter Afghan winter with nothing but the clothes they were wearing when they ran.
But honestly? The need is overwhelming. Afghanistan was already in crisis—almost half the country is facing severe hunger. This earthquake didn't create a new problem. It made an impossible situation even worse.
We're still on the ground. Still distributing aid. Still trying to reach families in remote villages who haven't received any help at all. Winter is here, and for too many, it will be a fight for survival.
Your continued support means another family eats today. Another child stays warm tonight. Another survivor knows they haven't been forgotten.
Please, donate now to help us keep going.
With gratitude,
The Smile Givers International Team
