Rahim is preparing to start University of Buea (UB) Next week thanks to your support and the support of Mah Di’s orphanage. Having completed his first year in UB he is a source of inspiration to his more than 20 brothers and sisters, some of them will be following his steps in the next years .
Madam Comi, the Director of the Orphanage is so proud of him he brings him up in any conversation with us. She has also a very inspiring story. A decade ago she was fighting AIDS and very close to death, now she leads a support group that is a reference for Women Living With HIV in Muyuka, Cameroon and she also manages practically alone a full functioning orphanage with more than 20 children. Both of you are now connected, you are fighting the same fight, the one for Rahim’s rights to realize his dreams and one day come back to support the orphanage himself.
These past months were not easy for Rahim, he is re-sitting for some exams as he failed a few courses and we are pending to see his results to support him for another year. On top of everything he fell ill and had to be operated of appendicitis, luckily everything went well and he is now concentrated on passing his grades. He does not have time to have pity of himself “I know my mistakes and this new year I will not disappoint you people, I’m going to make you proud”
The burden and responsibility this young man carries is huge, and we have no doubt he will overcome this difficulty and come out stronger, we will keep you posted.
Thank you again for believing in him
