The trade school was officially opened and commissioned on the 26th Sept 2014! It was a great day and we had 400 adults and 300 children during this celebration. The even was colourful and the guest of honour was the Deputy High Commissioner of Australia to Kenya.
We have started with the following courses: Fashion and Design, Masonry, Carpentry and Joinery, Plumbing and Computer Skills. We have 10 sewing machines, some carpentry tools and masonry tools. We still don't have computers but the classroom is ready. We already have 5 students who are doing Fashion and Design and we are looking forward to having more as we have just opened.
We are hoping to support the orphans who never made it to high school because of lack of school fees and are at home. The trade school is not only giving skills but will give counseling to the youth who have lost hope in their lives. We are looking forward to the construction of boarding facilities and more workshops to help us get students from other communities.
We wouldn't have come this far without your efforts and commitments. We sincerely thank you all for making this happen. We have no words to express the joy but know that you have done a wonderful job towards the Lurale Hill County Polytechnic. We are looking forward to chainging lives of the youth especially the orphans and vulnerable.
The fees per year is $250 per student and we are requesting that you share with friends to enable us to cater for the orphaned youth. Kindly share on your social pages, churches, groups and clubs to expand our donor family.
Once again thank you so much for your commitment and sacrifice towards this huge achievement.
