Chemotherapy is a critical, life-saving treatment for many cancer patients in Ghana, yet its high cost forces countless patients to delay or abandon care. This project provides financial assistance to help cancer patients afford chemotherapy, giving them a fighting chance to survive and recover.
In Ghana, most cancer patients pay for chemotherapy out of pocket. A single treatment cycle can cost more than a family's monthly or even yearly income. As a result, many patients miss treatments, reduce prescribed doses, or stop care entirely leading to disease progression and preventable deaths.
Many cancer patients in Ghana cannot afford chemotherapy, causing treatment delays or abandonment. This project provides financial support for chemotherapy, tests, and medications. It also helps with transportation to hospitals and offers psychosocial support for patients and caregivers. By prioritizing low-income patients, we ensure they can start and complete treatment. This reduces mortality, improves health outcomes, and restores hope.
This project will increase survival rates for cancer patients by ensuring they can complete chemotherapy without financial interruption. Over time, it will reduce treatment abandonment, improve patient quality of life, and strengthen community confidence in cancer care. By making life-saving treatment more accessible, the project contributes to healthier families, stronger communities, and a future where fewer cancer deaths are preventable in Ghana.
