David is a 5-year-old from Siberia. He is a lively, happy child who loves cars and stuffed toys. David normally has so much energy that he has a hard time sitting still or being quiet. But these days, he is much more subdued. David has been in Houston, Texas since June. He has a very aggressive type of sarcoma that is rarely curable. This is why he had to travel all the way to Houston from Siberia: MD Anderson Cancer Center is offering a procedure that combines chemotherapy and surgery. In some cases, it led to long-term remissions in children of David's age.
David has already had the surgery. He is now recovering from it, while at the same time undergoing more chemotherapy and radiation therapy to strenghen the results. Ronald McDonald House is David's home away from home. It's a convenient, happy place that provides all the comforts of a home to families of seriously sick children. Whenever possible, we help patients find lodging in low-cost, but high-value lodging options, like Ronald McDonald house.
Thanks again for your support! Please consider signing up for a recurring donation to help patients like David.
