Helping Children in Poverty at Resurge East Africa

It is with joy that I introduce you to Junior, a sweet loving two year old. Junior lives in Mwanza, Tanzania, with his grandmother Suli. Junior was born with Hirschsprungs' Disease, which causes him challenges with bowel management. 

We were introduced to Junior through our Diaper Drop partner Resurge Children East Africa. Resurge is an amazing, inspiring organization. They provide access to surgical and medical care to children living in poverty, who are challenged with colorectal conditions, at no cost to families. They've been providing medical care to Junior, and also training his grandmother Suli how to best care for his unique medical needs. 

At a recent Surgical Camp, diaper kits (made possible by you!) were distributed to Junior and other children. Joy radiated in Suli's face when she received the diapers. Diapers are an expensive item, and often considerd a "luxury" despite the fact that they are indeed a basic need, especially when living with a colorectal condition. Living in poverty has forced Suli to choose between food and diapers. Thanks you to, Suli no longer faces this decision. She is now able to afford more food, including high protein foods to help Junior grow big and strong! 

That's not all. Junior is now enjoying his childhood more. He's now able to participate in playdates with other children, while staying clean and dry. Suli is so happy and optimistic for Junior and his future. She is so thankful to you for the gift you have given her and Junior.
