Casa de la Amistad para Niños con cáncer is an organization founded in 1990 in Mexico. Its mission is to help increase the survival rate of low-income children and young people with cancer by providing comprehensive support and encouraging adherence to their medical treatments.
CDLA provides support to children and young people with cancer through four key action areas: early detection, timely care, appropriate treatment, and adherence to treatment. It operates two main programs:
1. Medical support, which provides medications, specialized tests, prosthetics, endoprostheses, bone marrow transplants, and everything needed to complement cancer treatment.
2. The shelter, which provides comprehensive services such as lodging, transportation, meals, emotional and educational support, and creative workshops. It also includes spaces that support rehabilitation and emotional well-being, such as a multisensory room and a peace classroom, where patients can learn relaxation techniques.
In its 34 years of continuous work, the organization has supported 15,866 patients, of whom 6,151 are under follow-up and 1,285 are currently undergoing treatment.
All the support we offer is with no cost to families; this wouldn't be possible without the help of caring individuals, businesses, and organizations who choose to join this wonderful cause.
