Dear Friend,
Hundreds of Iraqi children today face two major challenges simultaneously: the war against cancer and the wars that Iraq has experienced since 2003.
February 15 is World Childhood Cancer Day. We hope that their voices will be heard as loudly as possible.
Ahmed is six years old. He is one of those children who was deeply affected by two wars at once. The boy is from the Diyala region, specifically from the city of Muqdadiya, located on the front line. He found his family at home, where they spent another six months. Even then, there was heavy bombardment on the city, with several nearby houses being hit.
Ahmed's family has gone through difficult trials over the past two years: the boy's older brother, a defender, was wounded at the front, and two weeks later Ahmed lost his mother. A few weeks later, he was diagnosed with leukemia.
Thanks to the support of donors like you, Roma underwent chemotherapy. Now, the child and his father live in a patients' apartment or continue treatment.
Thanks primarily to donors like you. Please continue to stick with children like Roma and bring their long-awaited recovery closer, no matter what. Be their reliable support amid anxiety, fear and uncertainty.
