Dear friend,
Some stories remind us of the extraordinary impact one person can have. From 1980, Iraq has been experiencing wars and conflicts, until 2020, when it began to breathe. I share with you how your compassion is helping to bring a glimmer of hope to the hearts of children battling cancer in these difficult times.
Let me introduce you to Amjad, a remarkable six-year-old boy whose courage inspires us daily. After his family lost their home in a rocket attack, he faced another challenge – doctors discovered a tumor behind his ear. “It was really scary. I cried a little,” he said, displaying an innocent courage that touches us all. Despite surgery, the cancer returned.
This is where your kindness changes everything. Thanks to supporters like you, Evan continues his treatment and receives the best possible care. His story, like so many others, is still being written – and you are helping to write its hopeful chapters.
Even in the most difficult moments, when sirens wail in the air and therapists must be moved to shelters, we see daily miracles. Children recover, families stay together, and hope prevails. Your support makes this possible.
As we celebrate this solemn anniversary, we see more reasons for optimism every day. More children successfully complete treatment, more families gain strength, and more success stories emerge. Hope, healing, and resilience—this is the legacy you leave behind.
Will you continue this journey with us and help write more stories of recovery?
Sincerely,
Dr. Majed
