Amid the health and social challenges faced by children diagnosed with cancer in Iraq, our organization has launched a humanitarian project aimed at supporting this vulnerable group by providing psychological, social, and awareness services, alongside coordinating with medical institutions to facilitate available healthcare support.
Project Objectives:
- Provide psychological and social support to affected children and their families.
- Raise community awareness about childhood cancer and early detection methods.
- Assist the most affected families with essential supplies and transportation for treatment.
- Coordinate with health authorities to ease access to medical services.
Implemented Activities:
- Conducted group and individual psychological support sessions for 10 children.
- Carried out awareness campaigns in schools and community centers, reaching 100 people.
- Distributed emergency aid (food and medicine) to 20 families.
- Performed field visits in coordination with hospitals to assess needs.
Challenges:
- Limited financial resources and support.
- Distance of specialized centers from some areas.
- Difficulty for some families to access services due to displacement or poverty.
Conclusion:
This project reflects our organization’s commitment to every child’s right to treatment, care, and dignity. We hope to expand this work with the support of partners and donors to reach more children in need.
