Luciana is two years old and lives with her mother and brother in the city of Medellin, Colombia. From an early age she was diagnosed with Down Syndrome.
She is a very happy girl who enjoys playing with dolls, listening to music, interacting with other people and dancing.
Luciana and her mother came to the Patronato Foundation in February 2020 because they did not have the economic capacity to assume the therapies and rehabilitation with their own resources and they learned about our work through the experience of caring for another beneficiary child.
With the support received through GlobalGiving, Luciana has had comprehensive rehabilitation care and as a result has developed cognitive, adaptive and social skills achieving a good relationship with her environment and new forms of participation and social inclusion; she has also been a beneficiary of specialized consultations in speech therapy, psychology, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
Together we can achieve that Luciana has a harmonic development in health and she can create the next steps while she dances.
