The pandemic brought a series of challenges that affected many families, and Sara's was no exception. During Sara's complicated birth, the lack of proper medical attention caused serious complications that affected her small brain, resulting in cerebral palsy, which impacts her movement, muscle tone, and posture. Additionally, since then, she has had to cope with episodes of epilepsy.
Even with the pain of this situation, the family tried to adapt and understand what had happened when tragedy struck once more—the father of Sara was murdered during a robbery. This loss is compounded by the harsh reality of being a migrant family, where access to healthcare services becomes even more difficult. All of this has made it almost impossible to cover the medical and therapeutic needs that Sara requires for proper development.
Despite Mrs. Goyeidy's efforts, the healthcare system has repeatedly denied Sara the specialized consultations and medical exams she needs, such as orthopedic and physiatry consultations, X-rays, and other essential medical tests for her treatment and progress. Additionally, the provision of an appropriate orthopedic wheelchair to improve her mobility and autonomy.
We are joining efforts to provide Sara with the orthopedic wheelchair that has allowed her to gain greater autonomy. Today, we continue to seek support to provide Sara with the necessary medical care that will help her recover her health and improve her quality of life.
Together, we can make a real difference in little Sara's life. Your support will be crucial for her to receive the care she deserves and face a more hopeful future.
