In Nuquí, a community located on Colombia’s Pacific coast, families face a heartbreaking reality. Extreme poverty, geographic isolation, and the lack of access to basic medical services make healthcare an unreachable luxury for many. In this context, boys and girls grow up without the opportunity to receive the medical attention they need, suffering from illnesses that could easily be treated with timely care.
Aware of this reality—and despite the distance from Medellín—our team traveled to this region to carry out a Comprehensive Health Brigade, with the purpose of providing medical care, support, and hope to families living in conditions of high vulnerability.
Every smile, every word of gratitude, every hug received during this process reminded us why we are here: to transform lives.
After the consultations, seven children were diagnosed with health conditions that require specialized surgery. These little ones now have the possibility of living healthy and fulfilling lives. The surgeries are not just medical procedures—they are interventions that will change the course of their lives and those of their families.
Because of the complexity and distance, this process requires not only logistical coordination but also a considerable financial effort.
