Sarai is 5 years old and has Down Syndrome.
She received Comprehensive Care during the whole year and we want to present you all, some of her achievements.
In the area of Pedagogical Workshops: Sarai´s attendance to class was good, her family are committed with the child process.
During this period was observed a positive change in her behavior, she was more attentive to the instructions of the teacher and she kept the material on the table.
The work during the semester was aimed at strengthening:
- The functional manipulation of the work materials, increasing the degrees of difficulty.
- Acquisition of skills in the usage of school materials.
- Manual eye coordination, visual perception and learning of basic concepts related to the colors, shapes and letters of the name.
Furthermore, she associated the letters of the name to the sample and she made a better grip of the pencil, although she still needs the external support to improve the clamp.
About her personal relations, she related appropriately to classmates and recognized the names of her Friends.
In the Hydrotherapy sessions:
Sarai moved by the tube and tried to do dives by making bubbles by the mouth, also, executed an alternative kick with the help of the teacher, although from time to time it is necessary to reinforce and motivate her to make it.
Each time showed more safety in the water, jumped from the curb to where the teacher was and in the water with the help of the teacher, jumped and went swimming alone to reach the tube.
In the phonoaudiology sessions:
Sarai identified and implemented the work routine (greeting, fingerprinting, singing, working, playing, saying goodbye), but sometimes scatters easily requiring constant feedback to focus the attention again.
During the semester, the intervention focused on acquiring the point and mode of the phonemes / b /, / p /, / t / and / d / necessary for adequate oral expression in Spanish. This, by using the pictographic communication system.
Thank you so much for the support offered to Sarai and for all children with disabilities who need constant love.
We wish you the best for the new year and that all your dreams come true!
See you soon!
