Help Disabled Congolese Walk with 3D Limbs

Summary

We help amputees and vulnerable people in Goma and Bukavu, DRC, regain mobility with custom 3D-printed prosthetics. Our local center, INUKA, uses innovative scanning and printing technology to produce limbs and offers rehabilitation with physiotherapists. In a war-torn region, this gives hope and dignity to those who've lost everything.

Challenge

Decades of conflict in Eastern Congo have left thousands of civilians men, women, children, and ex-soldiers disabled by landmines, violence, or disease. With no access to affordable prosthetics or rehabilitation services, most are trapped in immobility, unemployment, and stigma. The lack of support leaves families and entire communities in despair.

Solution

INUKA Congo manufactures custom, low-cost 3D-printed prosthetic limbs directly in Goma and Bukavu. Our team scans each patient, designs the limb, prints it, and offers on-site physiotherapy. This approach is fast, affordable, and tailored empowering people with disabilities to walk again, work, and live with dignity in their communities.

Long-Term Impact

By restoring mobility to hundreds of people every year, this project reduces long-term poverty and social exclusion. It builds local capacity in orthopedic care, provides jobs, and fosters inclusion. Children return to school, adults return to work, and entire families gain hope. Over time, we aim to scale this model across the Great Lakes region.
