The importance of social-emotional skills

By Silva Vardanyan | Project Leader

Larisa, our new beneficiary.
Larisa, our new beneficiary.

Dear Donors,

We are pleased to announce that this program is being supplemented with new beneficiaries. It is important for us to provide them with social-emotional skills and help the children of the target group to get basic education. We value the opinion of the beneficiaries, because they look forward to the meetings with great enthusiasm. During the seminars, they have the opportunity to express themselves, share their own ideas, as well as participate in team work. Participants experience changes day by day and we are proud to share that progress with you

We present to you the tasks of individual works, which the participants performed.

At the beginning, they were asked to introduce their close friend, and tell what good memories they have of him and what they like to do together for fun. Then they should write down on the paper the phrases that inspire them with confidence. Sometimes they need to hear words that will boost their confidence.

The other work was dedicated to goals. They had to write down what they want to accomplish this summer, and then one by one highlight the steps that will achieve their goal. We also had a little refreshing  job. They had to name the songs that lift their mood and help them feel better when they feel sad, angry, or anxious. Providing social-emotional and social skills to the beneficiaries is very important for Zartonk-89, as they are important in the normal development process of life, especially during adolescence.

During the teamwork, the topic was free, they independently chose what they wanted to paint. The teams tried to be creative and surprise others. This work contributes to the development of their teamwork, to finding stronger contact edges with each other.

We present to you our new beneficiary Larisa and her message to donors.

Hi, I'm Larisa. It was very interesting and effective for me to participate in this seminar, because I have the opportunity to make new friends, fill in my missing knowledge. Participation in team work is very important. I was happy to be involved in this program for the first time and to gain social-emotional skills. I hope that the program will reach the milestone it has set. Thanks to the team that helped keep the program going.
