The Bon Center has 231 students in their care and provides education and residential care. Some students are orphans others have families in Nepal or Tibet. This photos shows some of the more senior boys preparing a school project. The education the students receive is of high quality and that is why Bon people send their children to the center for their education even though it is far from home.
New students soon settle into the life of the center, make friends and enjoy all that is offered including music, sports and field trips. Many students come from small rural villages and if they had stayed there would not have been exposed to the range of educational and extra curriculum activities.
Here is one student’s thoughts, “As a teenager you can see mistakes you have made. If you don’t study you can make problems for yourself and life becomes miserable and sometimes we can become angry at life. As a student we have to pay attention to our education. If we neglect our education then there will be no good future ahead. Your future depends on you. If you want to live happily you need modern education and we are being supported in this by the Bon Center and its staff.”
