Our CEO, Kadiatou F. Sidibe, and board of director member, Aissata Traore are in Bamako, Mali. ACFA-Mali’s children will be having their first Christmas. Though aged from 5 to 8, these children have never known any Christmas!! Thanks to your support they will this year. When I showed them a picture of Santa Claus and asked them what it was, I received the answer: “it’s an alien midget”. This week, they learned their Christmas and holiday seasons songs and are ready to celebrate Christmas, and new year 2011. Thank you for your generous support!
For the past several months, changes have occurred in the lives of our children: shelter, education, health care, and nutrition are all part of these changes.
In addition to regularily attending school, our children have been enrolled in after school extra educational curriculum activities: Math, French, Geography, etc... Additionally, they are taking English classes, and are enrolled in basketball practices. This week we are negotiating with the World Taekwondo Champion’s (Daba Modibo Keita) Office to enroll the children to take classes in Taekwondo.
