"As I think to the future, I hope that the forest can flourish on my land. But the means to do this are still not enough. As the proverb goes, with one finger you cannot catch a fly. Without the help of others, we cannot achieve our dreams."
- Victor, Farmer Leader, SEPALI Madagascar Agroforestry Initiative
Resilience through Agroforestry
Victor, a local farmer leader in northeastern Madagascar, plants native trees for wild silk caterpillars on the margins of disappearing rainforest.
Over the last 15 years collaborating with our local team, Victor has planted 4,000 trees. They deliver value for his family, wild species, and help safeguard our shared climate future.
We recently sat down with Victor to hear his story, in his words.
We hope you'll enjoy this inspiring interview, and the views of the Masoala National Park-bordering landscape where Victor's agroforestry system lies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCfnO6ONBOE
