Rescuing an animal from neglect is only the beginning.
A vulnerable animal may need food, clean water, veterinary care, a safe place to recover, continued monitoring, and a responsible long-term caregiver. Without these forms of support, an animal rescued from one difficult situation can remain vulnerable to another.
That is why Good Cause Foundation Uganda is taking a broader approach through our Help, Feed & Save 100 Neglected Animals campaign in Eastern Uganda.
Our mission is to support 100 neglected and vulnerable animals while helping communities develop better and more sustainable animal-care practices.
We will identify animals in need and assess their welfare conditions. Based on individual circumstances and available resources, support may include emergency feeding, clean water, veterinary assessment and treatment, rescue assistance, temporary safe care, rehabilitation, and follow-up.
We will also engage animal owners and community members in practical animal-welfare education.
This includes encouraging:
Adequate and appropriate feeding
Reliable access to clean water
Safe and suitable shelter
Early attention to illness and injury
Preventive veterinary care
Good hygiene practices
Responsible animal ownership
Humane treatment and protection from avoidable suffering
We believe sustainable animal welfare requires both immediate action and long-term prevention.
