An orphan black bear cub was brought to Keepers of the Wild after being retrieved from under a vehicle by Arizona Game and Fish. Kenai, which means black bear in Native American, is approximately 5-6 months old. He is staying in a quarantine habitat next to our Care Center. He has his own swimming pool, hammock, climbing structures, an elevated platform and den. He is very lively, playful and rambunctious. Kenai likes to play among his tree branches and limbs. Kenai eats a wide variety of foods but especially enjoys grapes and carrots. His keepers also give him goat milk to help him grow big and strong. Kenai is adjusting well to his new home at Keepers of the Wild. Be sure to watch this video of his arrival.
This year alone we have rescued 13 animals so far- including six black bears. The new bears alone will raise our food bill by over $70,000 this year! That's not including any other animals or care expenses. Please help Keepers of the Wild with your donation to feed rescued animals. As you know, food and care expenses are an on-going expense and this fundraiser will remain active on GlobalGiving.
Again, we are so thankful for your continued support to provide the best for these deserving animals. We also know that we will be able to count on our donors and supporters to continue to trust us to provide life-long homes to the animals that are currently here. We thank you for continuing to believe in our mission.
