We can really help by uplifting our own Inner-state. If we put the Higher energy out, it affects those we come in contact with. They, in turn, pass it on. And thru "interconnectedness" the Higher energy is diffused into the whole melting pot...It is important to go inside and contact the Light. It is all there. In memories. In feelings. In awarenesses. In hope.

Even the smallest action is powerful....Thru "interconnectedness" any one thing affects everything else. Even the smallest action has power.

This Report, like many of the others, gives an overview of the energy our Work has generated to lift suffering from the Animal Realm. And if the Heart truly opens to the animals, it has an impact on the Human Population, too, thru them being nicer to each other. It's simply the nature of the Heart.

Below are our STATISTICS SINCE OPENING JAN.2007 THRU DEC.2025

   MONTHLY (these figures are current). We:
  
  
  • Treat 800 to 1,500 out-patients in the Clinic, most of whom are "owner dogs";
  • Give 1,500 to 3,000 treatments to in-patients, almost all of whom are homeless dogs;
  • GO OUT ON 100 to 120 EMERGENCY RESCUES!
  • Perform 80 to 100 sterilizations;
  • Give 130 to 250 anti-rabies injections;
  • Place 5 to 15 puppies in good homes;
  • Treat 100 to 200 animals other than dogs.(Mostly cows, calves, goats,sheep, and cats...but many others too.)

The stats are impressive...But the underlying important thing is Love.

My Guru said THE PHYSICIAN HEALS WITH THE HEART...So our belief is that an animal must feel safe, cared for, and loved for deep healing to take place. Thus, the core of our Work is demonstrative love. Touching. Stroking. Holding. Reassuring. Kissing.

When we first opened in January 2007 the "animal situation" was really bad. The growth of the homeless dog population was out of control. With no small animal vet within 60 kms, no treatment facility, rabies, and widespread abuse, there was unbounded misery. There were 350 suffering and dying animals on the streets--mostly dogs and puppies, but othere too (monkeys, cows, squirrels, peacocks, etc.) It was awful!

Things are very good now.

• In these 19 years the Shelter has been open... thru Love, caring, and intense effort everything has been transformed.
• The unfixed dog population is small.
• It is rabies-free.
• There are no more suffering animals on the streets AND the relationship between the animals and the people amongst whom they live is good.
• There is no more widespread abuse.

We treat every animal in need completely free of charge, regardless of whether they are homeless, wild, or domestic. That includes operations! Over the years, we have cumulatively given over 350,000 treatments to animals as in-patients or thru our shelter clinic, taking in dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, birds, peacocks, deer, horses, cows, rabbits, snakes, owls, mongooses, ducks, chickens, squirrels, eagles, reptiles, and so on...

Here are some Rescue Stories from Vishwa to warm your Heart. For many, this is their favorite part of the Report.

• Dog -- Got a 2pm call at the Shelter from a shopowner. There was a dog with a rope around its neck, badly infected. Dharma and Ramesh went. He was scared and fast. It took 1 1/2 hours to catch him. A male, 2 years old, 15kg, medium size. The rope was deeply embedded. He must have had it for 2 or 3 months. He was in a lot of pain...Drs. Mahesh and Pavithra treated him. Cut the rope and gave him 3 or 4 injections--painkiller, anti-biotics, and ivermectine for the maggots. It took 1 1/2 hours...Next morning they cleaned the maggots...Santosh and Mani looked after him during the day; Balaram and Ramesh at night. He bonded with Santosh...For 3 or 4 days he was just scared. Then he started playing with the other dogs. We released him after 1 1/2 months. He was very happy to be released...Om Namah Shivaya.
• Deer -- Got a 6:30pm call at the Shelter from the Forest Department. There was a young deer outside Seshadri Ashram being attacked by some dogs. Prem, Dharma, Venkatesh, and Tamil went in the ambulance. It was a young male, about 1 1/2 years old. They chased the dogs away, The poor babe had antlers, and was very afraid. He had some dog bites and some wounds from falling down. They got him in 10 minutes. Fortunately, no one got hurt...Four Forest people had also come...They all went to the Shelter. Dr. Raja treated him for a half hour. The bites and wounds were not bad. No stitches. No bandages...The Forest People took him to care for him...Om Namah Shivaya.
• Puppies -- Got a 10am call at the Shelter from someone in the Yogi Ram Surat Kumar Ashram. Someone had dumped 4 young puppies outside the Ashram. Vishwa and Pandi went. They were starving and crying--2 1/2 months old, 3 males, 1 female.They took them to the Shelter. The next day they were given warm medicated baths and de-wormed. Vishwa took them home where Sundari, his wife cared for them for 20 days...Vishwa found a good home...Someone came and took all four. Vishwa went with them and spent two hours...It was a farm with a lot of land. They had four children--2 boys and 2 girls, between ages 9 and 13...Vishwa went back after a week. The puppies were very happy. Playing, and being fed well...Om Namah Shivaya.
