Project Report | May 8, 2025
The project was successfully completed.

By Irina Rusanovschi | President CICD PHOENIX

The project was successfully implemented thanks to the generous support received through GlobalGiving's Ukraine Crisis Fund.

Just before the Easter holidays, we purchased 13 additional wardrobes, bringing the total number to 15. These were installed in the rooms where families with children are accommodated, helping to create a more comfortable and dignified living environment. Now, the families live in well-furnished rooms that offer them a sense of stability and care.

In addition, we prepared small Easter gifts for 120 refugees, helping them feel remembered and supported during the holiday season. This support has brought not only practical improvements to their daily lives but also emotional comfort in a difficult time.

Beneficiary Feedback

The families expressed deep gratitude for the improved living conditions. Many parents shared that having proper furniture, such as wardrobes, made them feel more at home and helped restore a sense of normalcy for their children. The children were especially happy to have their own space to store clothes and personal items.

One mother told us, “It may seem like a small thing, but having a wardrobe where we can keep our clothes neatly has made our room feel like a real home again.”

The Easter gifts also brought smiles and moments of joy, reminding refugees that they are not alone and that people care about their well-being.

Before the Easter holiday, we organized a celebration focused on Orthodox traditions. The event included egg dyeing activities and various workshops for both children and adults. The main goal was to promote cultural and religious values while strengthening community bonds in a festive and creative atmosphere.

Context and Ongoing Efforts

Currently, there are over 90,000 refugees living in the Republic of Moldova. At CICD PHOENIX, we are committed to supporting them through various ongoing projects, with a particular focus on children. We believe that every child deserves safety, dignity, and opportunities to grow, even in times of crisis.
