On May 29, 2025, CICD PHOENIX, at the request of the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova, proudly inaugurated the Ukrainian Cultural Center inside the "Vasile Suhomlinski" Theoretical High School in the city of Edinet.
This school has already welcomed over 40 Ukrainian refugee students, providing them with not only access to education, but also a sense of belonging and dignity.
To support the initiative, CICD PHOENIX:
Renovated an entire classroom, turning it into a bright and welcoming space;
Furnished it with new desks and chairs;
Installed an interactive whiteboard;
Decorated the walls with visual cultural elements, including a beautiful map of Ukraine in the traditional Petrykivka style.
The opening event was honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Paun Rohovei, Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova. His Excellency brought a generous donation of books for the “Ukrainian Shelf,” a cultural-educational initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska. From now on, these Ukrainian-language books will enrich the daily learning of children in the center.
To mark this special moment, Ukrainian children performed an emotional concert titled “Within the School Family”, wearing national costumes and showcasing traditional songs and dances.
As a sign of gratitude, a Diploma of Appreciation from the Embassy of Ukraine was offered to GlobalGiving CEO, Ms. Victoria Vrana, for the platform’s essential support in making such initiatives possible.
